When I first saw Laura Adenblaise it was in Kensington Market where I lived for two years. she was hangin ot in a small blues bar on Balwn Street and I was struck by her precense and asked if I could photograph her. Then I went to hear her sing one evening and as I reported in an earlier blog she was like the second coming of Edith Piaff. I said that on this evening Ms. Piaff must have ben hiding under a table watching this wonder preform. Subsequently I got to know Laura a bit and we did this undr water collaboration only I got wet with the idea and not the water. Laura is a physically gifted professional who takes risks and has studied dance before singing a note. These photographs were taken through a glas window underneath the pools surface. Laura was a bit slow to adjust to the view from under all of her bublles but when she did feel confident then a lot of what happened was all her own spiritual giving to me as I sat there with my mouth opened clicking away as she gave me the treat of a private moment with her. When she sings
the physicaliity of what she takes in permeats the space where she stands.
Every inch of her being feels the music she composes and sings. She is like
anyone else who has been branded with a treasure of gifts and will be famous one day if that what she chooses. No one can be sure and it will evolve as she is an extrodinary women. am so lucky to have met here and shared so much in a small space of time. thank you Laura!
